The 4 Star Emily Moon River Lodge in Plettenberg Bay offering both bed and breakfast or a self catering choice, is located where luxury and peace are found in a sweeping river valley. Embracing the southern bank of the Bitou River, Emily Moon River Lodge is a small, exclusive Lodge with accommodation for just 16 adult guests and two children over the age of eight years. We also have a very beautiful self catering house on the Piesang River in Plettenberg Bay,

The eight separate luxurious lodges are private, individually and stylishly furnished. Spacious living area. Fully appointed bathroom with under floor heating. Fitted with mini bars and satellite TV. We have a stunning restaurant which exudes the essence, spirit and feel of Africa with beautiful collectors pieces in every nook and cranny. Our chef extraordinaire produces an eclectic menu for candlelit dinners and fun lunches around the pool area and our barman is a dab hand at cocktails in the evening. The deck tables virtually hang over the river and have a spectacular view of the wetlands, river and far distant mountains.

Katy’s vibey little sushi bar offers the best in town and a platter with a glass of chilled wine is ideal for a light lunch. A large log fire for the winter months is a popular spot for that after dinner Irish or just a cosy little chat.

Directions

From Cape Town via George and Knysna: follow the N2 highway East from Cape Town towards George and Port Elizabeth. Pass the town of George and continue on to Knysna. Drive through the town and leave Knysna on the N2 highway towards Plettenberg Bay. On reaching Plettenberg Bay you stay on the N2 highway, passing the Shell Ultra & Engen Petrol stations. After passing the Goose Valley golf course on the right you will see a signboard for Mallard River Lodge/Emily Moon River Lodge. Turn left at the “Rietvlei” road sign (Penny Pinchers Corner). Follow this road to the end (approx 1.4km) where you will find Emily Moon River Lodge.
