The Gold Nugget

The Gold Nugget Guesthouse and fully licensed Pub is a bed and breakfast accommodation establishment known for its good service and hospitality. It was originally named after the famous gold nugget found by prospector HW Peacock in 1912 near Barberton.

Barberton is a small town about 40 km from Nelspruit and 46 km from the new Mbombela 2010 Soccer Stadium. Close to the Swaziland border, it is also en route to Mozambique and the Kruger National Park, only an hour’s drive

Barberton is well known for its gold mining activities, as well as the ancient rock formations dating back millions of years, and the Barberton Daisy which was discovered here in 1884 by Robert Jameson, after whom the daisy was named ‘Gerbera Jamesonii’.

We provide comfortable en-suite bedrooms, each with a hospitality tray. Lunch and dinner are available on request, as well as a small pub menu. We are motorcycle and child friendly and welcome gay people. Small pets are also welcome by prior arrangement. Languages spoken are German, Swiss, English and some Afrikaans.
