Idle & Wild

Idle & Wild

Idle & Wild is on a working macadamia farm near Hazyview, offering bed and breakfast accommodation in the lush subtropical Sabie River Valley with the Sabie River bordering the property. Perfectly located, this is an ideal base to explore some of Mpumalanga’s most famous attractions, including the Kruger National Park, God’s Window, Blyde River Canyon, Pilgrim’s Rest and a variety of waterfalls.

Listen to the Fish Eagles calling as you unwind in secluded and spacious African thatched rondavels. Soak up the warmth of the sun around the pool or pamper yourself in the sauna and Jacuzzi. Go for peaceful walks, sit by the river’s edge and take in the plethora of bird life or enjoy the peace and tranquility in the garden by the pool.

Each rondavel is privately located in the sub-tropical garden. Two of the rondavels have two ¾ beds, bathroom en-suite, kitchenette & private verandah with braai (barbeque) facility. The Honeymoon Rondavels each have a queen size bed, bathroom en-suite, private spa-bath, kitchenette, air-conditioning, verandah and one unit has a fireplace.

Our cottage is ideal to accommodate four people. There are 2 separate bedrooms, both with bathroom en-suite. There is a lounge with a fireplace and fully equipped kitchen that opens onto a patio with a private braai(BBQ) area overlooking the valley, from where you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets and mountain views.

Two suites adjoin the main house. Each has a private entrance from the garden, a lounge area with TV, bathroom-en suite, air-conditioning, a kitchenette and private courtyard with braai facility. The Sunbird Room is a small room with a bunk bed, toilet and basin, and a outside shower.

A full English breakfast is served on the veranda of the main house, or a continental breakfast can be put in your fridge to be enjoyed at your leisure. Alternatively, should you wish to make an early start to the Kruger National Park, a packed breakfast will be provided.
