About Mfubu Lodge & Gallery

Mfubu Lodge & Gallery is 30 km from the Phalaborwa gate to the Kruger National Park, which is part of the biggest nature reserve in the world.

Mfubu means hippo in the Bemba language and these magnificent animals are frequent guests at night on the lawn.

  • The Main Camp nestles under a green canopy of giant indigenous trees in full view of the river. Three thatched timber chalets on stilts are connected by aerial walkway with two bathrooms, a dining room with an open fire, and a lounge with pleasant deck on which to have sundowners and watch the river, Each chalet accommodates two people in extra large „pygmy“ beds under a mosquito net. Two sparkling swimming pools offer a refreshing dip.
  • Timber Cottage - is secluded from the main camp and offers total privacy. Hidden in the trees on stilts with own bathroom and shower, and with an inspiring view of the river.
  • Stone Cottage - is the alternative for a more careful bush lover; it provides an en-suite bathroom and tranquil veranda.
  • Ginger bread House - Ever wished to have time and place to take up drawing? And what about to start painting again? Or do some woodwork? Have ideas and never get to realise them? This is the place to do IT!

Mfubu Lodge offers gourmet cuisine of Scandinavian and central European origin.
