The Bend is a well established Country House offering child friendly bed and breakfast accommodation near Nottingham Road in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. Situated on a magnificent Nature Estate of 1400 hectares, it nestles in a secluded amphitheatre in the foothills of the majestic Drakensberg and is a sanctuary for all who visit.

We have eight elegant en-suite bedrooms in the main house and a further eight garden rooms in the adjoining new wing. All have period furniture and each room has its own unique character. We have remained true to the ambience of a country home. Some of our rooms have sofa beds and comfortably accommodate children. Most of our bedrooms have balconies, or open into the garden.

Tariff includes a delicious breakfast. Evenings are a time to relax on the terrace overlooking the river or in front of a roaring log fire in the cozy Ingwenya Pub. This can be followed with the enjoyment of fine country dining in our gracious diningroom. Bar snacks are served every evening in the bar from 18h00, followed by a three course Country Style Set Menu. The Bend will gladly cater for special dietary requirements.

This stretch of the Mooi River is highly regarded by flyfishermen who enjoy challenging the Wild Brown Trout that have been here since the 1870’s. There are 6 well stocked Stillwater Dams for the fisherman’s further enjoyment. Other activities include walking, horse riding, mountain biking and birdwatching.

Directions

On the N3, take the Nottingham Road Off-Ramp.At the T-Junction Turn right to the village of Nottingham Road and proceed for 8 km to the R103. Then turn right at the Nottingham Road / Mooi River sign and pass under the old railway bridge. Keep right, passing the Engen Garage and the Bow and Arrow Spar, which will be on your left. Just before the Police Station, turn left onto the Lower Loteni road, also called the Himeville/Sani Pass road, and travel for approximately 13 km. At the district road D361, turn right and continue for a further 4 km, following the signs to The Bend.We are situated just after Wozane.
