



In 1981 “Hilldrop House” near Newcastle in KwaZulu-Natal was declared a National Monument.The home of Sir Rider Haggard (author of King Solomon’s Mines) and built in 1875, it stands as a focal point in a 3 hectare indigenous forest overlooking the child friendly bed and breakfast accommodation establishment now called “Haggards Hilldrop B & B”, built around it since 1997.
Our comfortable and spacious non-smoking rooms have been designed to accommodate all our guests’ needs, whether on business or holiday. Childer under 2 years stay free.
