Mdoni House guest lodge is approached via a bower-like drive that leads under the branches of sub-tropical trees up to the enormous old Mdoni tree that stands on guard at the entrance, its huge gnarled old branches pushing out as if to form a protective umbrella over the house.

Set in a subtropical garden 500 metres from the sea, just off the R620 and 3km from the centre of the bustling town of Port Shepstone, Mdoni House is less than an hour’s drive from Durban International Airport. Easy access to all main routes, Durban to Cape Town, and South Coast attractions.

Reception, dining room, and TV lounge are all encompassed in one large area which is tastefully furnished with comfortable modern furniture and a licensed bar. Our collection of original water colours by the British artist Bert Eastwell are displayed on the walls here and in the public areas.

Our latest addition, Flame Tree Cottage, is frequently utilized as an annexe to Mdoni House Guest Lodge. Set in its own grounds 25 metres from the main house, it makes a delightfully secluded honeymoon suite, or an equally practical escape for family self-catering holidays.
