The Antbear Guesthouse is a thatched, whitewashed cottage built high on a natural platform overlooking the Bushmans River and Giants Castle. This cottage is a bit off the beaten track and is more of an insider tip than just another bed and breakfast. We cater for small intimate groups and never have more than 10 guests at a time.

It’s a laid back, lovingly cared for kind of place where you feel a sense of happiness and peace. Honeymoon stays turn into anniversary commemorations just as guests become friends. Even foreign tourists return for a second and third taste.

The Antbear Guest House offers affordable accommodation in the foothills of the KwaZulu Natal Drakensberg near Giants Castle in South Africa. This guesthouse is an ideal place to base yourself while you discover the Drakensberg region of KwaZulu Natal South Africa.

Each room is differently decorated with uniquely eccentric and artistic wooden furniture. Our honeymoon suite is an intimate en-suite accommodation with a jacuzzi spa bath and a fire place in the bedroom. Of course every detail has been attended to with a slant towards arty and unique.

What makes the luxury rooms special is that they are very generous, have their own private lounge and of course have king size double beds. The bathrooms have a jacuzzi spa bath included.

Directions

Travel along the N3. Take the off ramp 152 between Estcourt and Mooi River. Travel in the direction of Hidcote. After 7 km you will encounter a T-junction. Turn right towards Giants Castle. After 14 km turn right towards Moor Park onto a dirt road. After 5.3 Km you will pass a right hand turn off called “The Rise”. 300 metres from this road is the farm entrance on the right. The Antbear Guesthouse is 2 km along the farm road up the hill and is the thatched cottages that you can see from the road.
