The houseboats are moored in a private lagoon, separated from the main river by an 30 m x 20 m island. Across from this private island stretches a 500 m wide part of the Vaal River with Bird Island inbetween the banks.

One of the boats -  Windsor on Vaal -  is situated on a peninsula in a dammed section of the Vaal river, also know as the Vaal Barrage. The peninsula has the Loch on the one side, and the Vaal River on the other. 37 Windsor on Vaal is on the Vaal River side of the peninsula.

The interior of the craft is divided into three sections.  Forward is a large airy cabin. On one side is a double bunk and on the other is a single bunk. A 12V outlet and two little side tables are installed up front.

Aft of the forward cabin is the heads compartment, which includes a flushing toilet and shower. A non-skid floor is incorporated into the moulding. Aft of the heads compartment is the main saloon which incorporates a table with seats on either side, sink, 12 volt fridge, two-plate gas hob and separate gas oven and ample storage lockers. The saloon is divided from the cockpit by sliding glass door.

The galley work surface is a solid surface top made of acrylic and incorporate a acrylic sink moulded to the top and splashbacks on all three sides.

The bunk mattresses are made from firm foam and are covered with acrylic non-rotting removable covers of the highest quality.

From the North of Johannesburg on the N1. Pass the Sasolburg Vanderbijlpark exit. Take the next exit Vanderbijpark Potchefstroom. At the T-junction on the bridge, turn left towards Vanderbijlpark.  After 2km, turn right at the Loch Vaal sign.  After 10km, turn left at the stop sign. After 2km, turn right at The River Road SW5.  After 2km, turn right at Kaalplaats. This is Windsor road. Stay on the tar road for 3km. It will make a sharp right after 300m, then a sharp left and again a sharp right. We are at 37 Windsor on Vaal, on the left, just past Whataway Guest House.
