Die Agterplaas is situated at the foot of the historic Melville Koppies.  The view, tranquility and bird life easily lull visitors into forgetting that they are in a busy city. Yet the attractions of the Melville boutiques, bookshops, coffee bars and night clubs are not far away.

Die Agterplaas offers en-suite rooms which can be configured as singles, doubles or twins, and there is also a very spacious cottage with self catering facilities that would normally be allocated to guests who are staying for longer periods of time. This has a delightful private garden.

A variety of breakfasts is served in the large dining room with authentic Oregon pine flooring and pressed steel ceilings. We also offer limited informal conference facilities.

Directions

From O R Thambo Airport. Out of the Airport take the Johannesburg (R24) route.  Continue past BARBARA ROAD and EDENVALE ROAD.  About 9.5 kms from the airport there is a split in the road. Take the left turn which is JOHANNESBURG DURBAN KIMBERLEY.  About 6 km further after passing VAN BUUREN STREET there is another split. Take the left turn to GERMISTON   JOHANNESBURG. Immediately go right towards JOHANNESBURG.

About 10km further you will reach another split. Take the left turn to SANDTON   PRETORIA. After passing CARR AND SMIT STREETS, take the left turn into EMPIRE ROAD. Keep going in EMPIRE ROAD as it swerves left at the Holiday Inn, cross two robots/traffic lights and then runs onto a T-junction. At the T-junction Steers and Engen on the left turn right into KINGSWAY. At the first corner where one can, turn RIGHT into LOTHBURY AVE. NB.which is COOKHAM to the left. Drive through Melville Village. LOTHBURY changes to 7TH STREET. When you get to another T-junction turn RIGHT into 5TH AVENUE. Turn first LEFT into 8TH STREET and immediately LEFT again into 6TH AVENUE. About 200 metres further number 66 is on your left. 4 identical green and white garages identify DIE AGTERPLAAS.
