Thornycroft Lodge is nestled in the heart of Horseshoe Valley, on the banks of the Nahoon River, surrounded by lush vegetation, beautiful hills and an abundance of bird and wildlife and only 10 minutes from the centre of East London.

Our luxury suites open onto lush tranquil gardens ensuring that you awake to the sound of birdsong. The suites are designed for comfort, making use of space, natural light and uncluttered decor in earthy tones.

The thatched poolside lapa features a bar, pooltable, darts, Nintendo WII and big screen, and serves light lunches. Just off the bar is the winter lounge, with its large fire place and comfortable couches, perfect for enjoying a good read or a family board game.

Our Spa takes care of all your relaxation needs, with a professional and experienced therapist, beautiful treatment room and sauna and jacuzzi. Appointments should be made at the time of making your reservation. Day visitors are welcome.

Take the Amalinda exit from the N2. If you are coming from East London, turn right at the top of the exit. If you are coming from King William’s Town, turn left at the top of the exit.
At the T-Junction turn left into Voortrekker Road. After 800 m, you will see a sign “Thornycroft Lodge”.
Now just follow the signs. Proceed through a gate and cross the river over the causeway.Thornycroft Lodge is on your right hand side, just after the sharp left bend. Part of the road is gravel, but it is in good condition. Please drive slowly.
